I have no idea who said that, but he or she was a wise person. Love is the ever elusive, ever misunderstood, ever daunting, ever challenging, ever wonderful feeling we seek. There are so many kinds of love to be considered: love between child and parent, love between siblings, love between friends, love between lovers and spiritual love.

It is odd how for some of us, we will have it only once in our lives while others will have it throughout their lives. It is also odd how some might never have it, while others might settle for something less...like lust or security or sympathy or even abuse.

Love is different things to different people. For most it is intimacy, whether that be physical or intellectual. For some it is loyalty. For some it is the thought that they would die for another human being. Sadly for some, love means pain and abuse.

Whatever it means to you, don't give up looking for it, or nuturing the love you have, or feeling it. It is one of the things that makes you human.
